We care about our planet and our community

More than a programme, it's what we do

At Cardinal we’re committed to being a responsible business, both in how we work with our clients but also in terms of how we contribute to the wider community and the world around us. It’s important to our employees to work for a socially responsible organisation and our approach therefore reflects our people.

From day one at Cardinal, we’ve always believed this and actively encourage our people to engage with our wider community. All of our colleagues are allocated one day per year to volunteer for charity work at any charity of their choice.

Within the business we have a charitable trust, with elected committee members, which is responsible for distributing and managing our charitable giving.

Some of the charities we currently support include The Wellspring, a resource centre for homeless people and disadvantaged people. Another exciting project that we’re involved with is the Bambisanani Partnership, an international project that brings together school children in the UK and South Africa.

How this is helping

“I loved the trip to London as we got to do loads of fun stuff. We saw where the Queen lives, Big Ben, went on a boat and watched Wicked. I’ve never been to London before, or been on a train. It was amazing.”

Year 6 pupil at Haveley Hey

“I couldn’t do the work without the support of businesses like Cardinal who promote the charity and provide funding support.”

Len Curtis, Donna’s Dream House

“I’d like to thank all the guys at Cardinal for helping make a huge difference for us in raising funds by pounding the streets of Manchester in the Great Manchester Run.”

Johnathan Billings, The Wellspring

Our Carbon Neutral Commitment

Positively transforming society and the planet by measuring our own impact on the environment.

We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with The Planet Mark who will be supporting us in measuring and reducing our carbon footprint.

The Planet Mark is an internationally recognised sustainability certification for business acknowledging continuous progress, encouraging action, and building an empowered community of like-minded individuals.

In this crucial Decade of Action, we want to ensure that we are a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by measuring our own impact on the environment.

Over the next year we will be working towards reducing our carbon emissions, and we want to share this journey with our community to encourage others to take climate action.

Through The Planet Mark we are protecting an acre of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Our pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

Through our commitment to The Planet Mark we are also helping the Eden Project – an educational charity that connects us with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.

We look forward to sharing our sustainability achievements with all of you, and encourage you to get in touch if you have any questions, suggestions or would like to get involved.
